Xylocaine Ointment Use After Vaginoplasty

Two weeks after my vaginoplasty surgery, I started having severe constipation. I used to suffer from piles in the past as well and was advised by a doctor to use lidocaine (Xylocaine) ointment inside the anus to prevent the hemorroids from paining. When I started suffering from constipation after my surgery, my hemorroids started paining severely again, so one day I used xylocaine ointment inside the anus for relief. This caused sudden convulsions of the anal muscles, and I could also feel these involuntary convulsions spread over my vaginal muscles. Will using this ointment cause harm to my vaginal muscles, and will it alter the effect of the surgery? Are the convulsions that I experienced harmful for my vagina?

Xylocaine and vaginoplasty

I agree that you are likely experiencing levator muscle spasms. The problem here is your constipation causing a flare-up in your hemmorhoids. The more global solution is to treat the constipation (likely caused by narcotic use after your vaginoplasty), by decreasing narcotic use, taking in stool softeners and lots of fluids. As always, when you're having post-op problems you should discuss these issues immediately with your surgeon. I hope this helps!
